Sustainable Visual Precision: The E-Paper Revolution
Electronic Paper (E-Paper) technology simulates the appearance of ordinary ink on paper. Unlike conventional flat panel displays that emit light, E-Paper reflects light like real paper, making it comfortable to read and extremely energy-efficient. Our industrial-grade modules are designed for high-performance B2B environments where readability and low power are mission-critical.
Retail & Logistics
Digital shelf labels and warehouse inventory tracking systems with ultra-long battery life.
Medical & Lab
Sunlight-readable patient status displays and lab equipment monitoring modules.
Ultra Low Power
No power needed to hold an image; Its bi-stability allows an image on an e Ink screen to be retained even when all power sources are removed.
Reflective
No backlight; e Ink displays are referred to as “reflective displays”, no backlight is used; rather, ambient light from the environment is reflected from the surface of the display. Eliminating the need for a backlight significantly increases the battery life.
Rugged
e Ink displays are comprised of an ink layer laminated to a plastic film substrate, end product with less breakage in the electronics due to drops or stress tension.
Technology of E-paper
Two Pigment Ink Systems
The two-pigment electronic ink system is made up of millions of tiny microcapsules. Each microcapsule contains negatively charged white particles and positively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid. When a positive or negative electric field is applied, corresponding particles move to the top of the microcapsule where they become visible to the viewer. This makes the surface appear white or black at that particular area.
Three Pigment Ink Systems
E Ink Spectra™; E Ink Spectra is the first three pigment electronic ink offered in mass production. EPDs using Spectra offer the same high-contrast, sunlight readable, low-power performance attributes of our other display types. The first generation of Spectra features black, white and red or yellow pigments, and we expect to release additional colors in the future.
Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP)
Advanced Color ePaper (ACeP); ACeP achieves a full color gamut, including all eight primary colors, using only colored pigments. The ink can be incorporated into either microcapsule or microcup structures. Color is achieved by having all the colored pigments in every pixel, removing the need for a color filter array. ACeP maintains the ultra-low-power and paper-like readability under all lighting conditions of regular E Ink ePaper.
